The build worker, the MCP surface, and model orchestration.

About lumaq

lumaq is the AI-native software factory. One control plane carries a project from artifacts and requirements through blueprints and work orders into code — agents execute, one governed approval gates release, and every line is yours from the first commit. We are a small team building that platform and delivering on it for regulated enterprises.

About the role

You build the part of the factory that actually executes: the lumaq worker, the MCP surface that carries work orders into the coding agents our customers already use, and the orchestration that keeps behaviour stable across models. Agentic, not autonomous — the goal is output a reviewer can trust, not a longer leash.

What you'll do

  • Build the worker and the MCP surface that carry work orders into Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, and whatever comes next.
  • Orchestrate agents across models, and keep behaviour stable when a provider changes underneath you.
  • Build the evaluations that tell us a change to a prompt, a tool, or a model made things better rather than merely different.
  • Land agent output on the proposal shelf as reviewable diffs — including the ones written against a version that has since moved.

What we look for

  • You have shipped an LLM-backed system to production and operated it — not a demo, and not a notebook.
  • Real opinions about tool design, context construction, and failure handling, formed by things breaking.
  • Strong software engineering first: the model is a component, not the architecture.

What sets a candidate apart

  • Evaluation harnesses a team trusted enough to gate releases on.
  • Work on MCP, agent protocols, or sandboxed code execution.

Where you'll work

lumaq is remote-first. The team works across time zones with a few hours of daily overlap, and we get together in person a handful of times a year. We care where you are only insofar as it affects that overlap.

How we hire

Three conversations, and no take-home marathon. A first call about what you have built, a working session on a real problem from our own backlog, and a conversation with the founders about scope and ownership. Every application is read by a person on the team.

Equal opportunity

lumaq is an equal opportunity employer. Every qualified applicant is considered without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable law.
